How fast can I get connected?

Internet connection with Next Business Telecom generally takes between 2-3 business days, depending on several factors.

If you have purchased a bundle that requires a phone line connection, it will take 2-7 days.

If you require phone line installation including wiring, trenching or another connection types, depending on availability, it can take 8-24 days.

Are there any setup fees for the service?

There will be a once-off cost to activate the service with Next Business Telecom, this cost is reduced if you choose a 12 or 24 month contract, instead of a month to month plan.

If you need a new phone line installed there may be a cost if wiring or trenching is required at your home. If there is an existing line, but needs reactivation it will cost $69, however if a new phone line needs to be installed, then it may cost up to $299.

If this is required, you’ll be phoned in advance and informed of the costs before the work is started.

What speeds can I expect?

Next Business Telecom uses Telstra’s ADSL2+ network, which provides maximum download speeds of up to 24Mbps, and maximum upload speeds of up to 850 Kbps.

If you are unable to get ADSL2+ you will be offered an ADSL service where available, which provides a maximum  download speeds of up to 8Mbps, and maximum upload speeds of up to 384 Kbps.

Actual customer speeds will be lower, and will vary based on a number of factors including distance to the exchange, internet traffic in your neighbourhood, how you use your service, the quality of your telephone line, and the manner in which you are connecting to your Next Business Telecom modem.

Do I need a phone line to connect?

Yes. ADSL is provisioned through ae telephone service, so it is required to access the internet.

We have a range of plans to suit your needs including internet with and without a bundled phone line rental. For more information on why a phone line is connected to access ADSL, and how this changes with NBN, have a chat with one of our friendly staff.

  • This product consists of an ADSL broadband service with Unlimited monthly data limit and a fixed telephone service utilizing PSTN.
  • In order to receive this service you are required to bundle both phone and broadband service with Next Business Telecom.
  • Minimum term is 1 or 6 months.
  • ADSL Services are not available in all areas or premises. There may also be technical or commercial reasons that affect our ability to connect a service at your address. To check your serviceability please contact our customer service team at 1300 788 029.
  • All phone call charges are subject to the rates listed above. Depending on your selected plan, you may have included local, national or mobile calls. 13/1300 and International calls are always subject to additional charges as outlined above.
